Are you in 5th Year student in Secondary School and interested in finding out more about a degree in Computer Science?

UCD is running a one day Computer Science Summer School for students interested in experiencing a day in the life of a UCD Computer Science student. 

What happens on the day?

The Summer School will take place in our state-of-the-art Active Learning Laboratory. Students will participate in hands-on activities, including programming and taking a computer apart (and putting it back together!). There will be activities involving logic puzzles plus demonstrations of Virtual Reality and robotics equipment. There will also be short talks on what Computer Science is, what a Computer Science degree is like, and how Computer Science is used in web search and social media.

Who is the event aimed at?

Students who are going into 6th Year (Leaving Cert) or Year 13 (A Level) in September 2018.

When and where?

Thursday 7 June 2018 in the UCD Computer Science Centre. A map is provided on page 2 of the programme.


€35 and includes a hot lunch and tea/coffee. A fee reduction is available for students whose parents or guardians are in receipt of social welfare.
